Elizabeth City -Encore Theatre Presents “Cotton Patch Gospel”: April 10-18 The "Greatest Story Ever Retold" is based on the book "The Cotton Patch Version of Matthew and John" by Clarence Jordan. The Gospel is presented in a setting of rural Georgia with country music songs, the final and perhaps best work of Harry Chapin. As this Gospel begins, somethin's brewin' in Gainesville. Herod is the mayor of Atlanta and, inevitably, Christ is lynched by local thugs only to rise again. Encore Theatre keeps Elizabeth City entertained with popular, fun, moving productions.

Albemarle Plantation-Easter Sunrise Servise-April 12 -  Non denominational Easter Sunrise Service-Service begine at 6:30 AM.  Plan to arrive at 6:15 AM.  Golf carts are also allowed at the service.  Service will be held overlooking the 18 hole on the golf course in the horseshe area behind the clubhouse. A complementary continental breakfast will be served after the service in the clubhouse.   If there is inclement weather the service will be held in the clubhouse.

River Splash Art Celebration: April 20-26  Calling all art lovers to Elizabeth City!  Splash is North Carolina’s only city-wide retreat for visual artists incorporating photography, fiber, pottery, metal art--plus many live music performances. Elizabeth City's Splash Art weeks attract artists from all over the country to learn, network and share with other artists and the public as they work in the open studio space and at many related art events throughout the city.
This Spring’s Splash will be bigger and better than ever featuring a variety of art venues and events during the week. Stay tuned as further details develop.
Each day the main studio will feature an artist-in-residence to assist or guide participating artists and offer demonstrations. Art students from Elizabeth City State University will be conducting drawing circles daily, which are open to anyone wishing to participate.

Edenton-Saturday, April 25, 2020 Brews & Q's! In celebration of North Carolina Beer Month, Historic Edenton State Historic Site will be introducing a new program to take place at the James Iredell property and focus on historic beer brewing and pork production.
The event will include food, historic beer brewing demonstrations, historic pork processing and cooking demonstrations, smokehouse history, and beer tastings from local breweries.

Albemarle Plantation-ASSA Albemarle Challenge Osprey Yacht Club-Albemarle Plantation Marina-Hertford, NC April 30-May 3.  The ASSA Albemarle Challenge Regatta is organized by members of the Albemarle Sound Sailing Association. Members are Colington Yacht Club, Edenton Yacht Club, Osprey Yacht Club, and Pasquotank River Yacht club. The regatta is open to all keel boats with a valid PHRF rating. Visiting boats will be allowed to dock their boats free of charge at the Albemarle Plantation Marina for the duration of the event. Visiting yachts may arrive and stay for the week preceding the regatta and the week following the regatta.

Albemarle Plantation-ASSA Albemarle Challenge Osprey Yacht Club-Albemarle Plantation Marina-Hertford, NC April 30-May 3. The Albemarle Sound Sailing Association (ASSA) is active in promoting sailboat racing on the Albemarle Sound. Each year the Osprey Yacht Club (OYC) hosts the ASSA Albemarle Challenge Regatta. Together with the OYC, the ASSA consists of the Edenton Yacht Club (EYC), the Colington Yacht Club (CYC), and the Pasquotank River Yacht Club (PRYC).
The regatta for 2020 will comprise three days of sailboat racing on May 1st, 2nd and 3rd with a sailor’s reception being held on April 30th. The racing format for each day will be varied to ensure that both short and long races are included.
In 2020, for the first time, the regatta is open to all sailboats regardless of their club affiliation and all sailors are welcome. If you are thinking of sailing the Albemarle Loop this year with a stop at the Albemarle Sounds premier location, the Albemarle Plantation Marina, consider taking part in this exciting regatta. For details of the regatta please contact Trevor Willsmer at trevor.willsmer@gmail.com.

Albemarle Plantation-Low Country Boil at the Albemarle Plantation Marina-May 1. Friday, May 1, 2020
The Osprey Yacht Club and the Albemarle Loop will be hosting a Low Country Boil with music from 6:00PM through 8:30PM. Low Country Boils are a very casual dining event where a large pot of seasoned water cooks an entire meal of potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage and of course, lots of shrimp or even other seafood like crawfish.
Tickets must be purchased in advance through the (Click here to pay) Albemarle Loop. The cost for the Low Country Boil is $25 per person and includes sides and dessert.
Cash Only Bar will be available for beer and wine.

Albemarle Plantation-May 2nd is a Deck Jam at Dockside starting at 6:00 pm beer and wine.  Lee Howard will be performing.

Whether you grew up on a farm or have just wondered what it was like to grow up on one, you won't to miss this year's Heritage Farm Fest. Step back in time as you wander through the Heritage Village. Watch as skilled artisans perform the trades of a bygone era. Learn about Blacksmiths, Shingle Making, and Notorious Moonshiners. Sample wonderful heritage foods. Witness teams of mighty draft horses as they move effortlessly by hands and voices of their drivers. Go back to simpler times as you see and hear the antique tractors and equipment in action. The day will be filled with old-fashioned, family-friendly fun.

Plymouth- NC Bearfest - June 6-7, 2020
Come learn and have fun through our educational, whimsical, entertaining and diverse event. With our location on the banks of the Roanoke River, Bear Fest is part river festival and part bear festival with over 30 ever-changing activities each year.  Our mission is to celebrate the fact that Eastern North Carolina has the world’s largest black bears and the highest black bear densities - and to educate people about these magnificent animals.
